Anna Liuzzo | Architect

Graduating from the Facoltà di Architettura of Palermo, Italy, in 2000, she has been a registered member of the Association of the Architects of Messina since 2001. In 2001, she commenced her collaboration with the Urban Future Organization in Messina, eventually becoming a partner in the firm.

In 2005, she participated in a digital design system workshop at the Architectural Association School of Architecture and the London Metropolitan University. The following year, she served as a guest critic at both the Architectural Association and London MET.

Building on her expertise, in 2008, she obtained a license in energy design for buildings from the Institute of Bio Architecture in Messina, where she has been an associate since 2019. In 2009, she took on the role of tutor in the architectural workshop in Selinunte.

Her contributions extend to the exhibition of Urban Future Organization’s work in numerous cities, including Rome, Brasilia, Beijing, Prague, Copenhagen, Venice, Florence, Milan, Palermo, Agrigento, and Selinunte. Additionally, her work with the UFO has been featured in various architectural publications such as il Progetto, Casabella, l’Arca, Vogue Italia, Wall Paper, CA Architecture and Concept, Archined, and 10 critics x 100 architects, featuring commentary by Zaha Hadid for UFO, published by Phaidon London.

Collaborating with the UFO’s office, she has achieved success in various international design competitions, securing wins in projects such as the MAAC Museum of Art and Architecture in Castelmola, the Etna’s Ski Centre, the new waterfront and polycentre of Messina, the Super City of Shenzhen, and the visitor centre of the archaeological park of Tindari.

Presently, she is actively involved in advancing the office’s portfolio in Italy.
