Vogafjós Greenhouse Restaurant is UFO Architecture’s entry for the Bee Breeders Greenhouse Restaurant Competition in Vogafjós, Iceland. The project explores the relationship between food culture, greenhouse architecture, landscape and climate-responsive design.
Located within the dramatic Icelandic landscape, the proposal investigates how a restaurant can operate as both a place of hospitality and a productive environmental structure. The greenhouse becomes more than an envelope for cultivation; it is treated as an architectural device that connects dining, growing, climate, atmosphere and visitor experience.
The project develops the restaurant as a destination where architecture supports local food production, social gathering and a direct relationship with the surrounding landscape. It reflects UFO Architecture’s broader interest in ecological design, material performance and spatial experiences shaped by environmental conditions.
