| Programme | Single-family villa, living spaces, bedrooms, kitchen and dining areas, private outdoor spaces, landscape connections and timber interior environments |
| Design Focus | CLT timber construction, bio-based materials, low-carbon housing, daylight, landscape integration, Scandinavian domestic space and contemporary villa design |
| Timber Strategy | The project uses cross-laminated timber as a structural and spatial system, exploring bio-based construction as part of a low-carbon approach to residential architecture. |
| Landscape Strategy | The villa is conceived in close relationship with its site, using orientation, openings, thresholds and outdoor spaces to connect the domestic interior with the surrounding landscape. |
| Daylight Strategy | The design prioritises daylight as a central part of the domestic experience, shaping the relationship between rooms, views, timber surfaces and seasonal Scandinavian light. |
| Environmental Strategy | The proposal explores a low-carbon domestic architecture through CLT construction, compact planning, passive environmental design, daylight optimisation and bio-based material expression. |
Villa Lindström is a CLT villa in Sweden by UFO Architecture, led by Daniel Fagerberg in partnership with Strömbro Building Workshop. The project uses cross-laminated timber to create a contemporary single-family house integrated with its landscape, exploring bio-based construction, daylight and a low-carbon approach within a Scandinavian domestic idiom.
The villa is conceived as a timber house where structure, interior atmosphere and environmental strategy are closely connected. Cross-laminated timber is used not only as a construction system, but as a way of giving the house warmth, clarity and material continuity.
The design responds to the Scandinavian landscape through orientation, daylight and carefully framed relationships between interior and exterior space. Living areas, openings, thresholds and outdoor spaces are organised to connect everyday domestic life with the surrounding site.
Daylight is central to the project. The architecture uses controlled openings and spatial depth to bring natural light into the house while shaping the atmosphere of the timber interiors. The changing quality of Scandinavian light becomes part of the domestic experience.
The project reflects UFO Architecture’s broader interest in CLT housing, bio-based materials and low-carbon residential construction. Rather than treating sustainability as an external technical layer, the design integrates material choice, spatial organisation, daylight and landscape connection into one architectural strategy.
Villa Lindström proposes a contemporary single-family house where timber construction, environmental performance and domestic comfort are developed together. The project demonstrates how CLT can support a warm, precise and landscape-oriented model of Scandinavian villa architecture.
