Valletta Luxury Villas & Holiday Homes is a 2017 design commission by UFO Architecture for a new residential development in Valletta, Malta. The project proposes a series of luxury villas and holiday homes on designed and reclaimed land in close connection to the marina.
The design develops a number of different villa types, each responding to the waterfront setting, Mediterranean climate and the specific conditions of marina living. The project explores how private residential architecture can be combined with landscape, water access and a strong relationship to the urban and coastal context of Valletta.
Rather than treating the villas as isolated objects, the proposal works with the reclaimed land as a designed residential landscape. Outdoor spaces, views, arrival sequences, privacy and marina connections are organised as part of a larger architectural and urban composition.
Valletta Luxury Villas & Holiday Homes reflects UFO Architecture’s experience in villa design, Mediterranean residential architecture and the development of site-specific housing typologies for exceptional coastal settings.
