The project is a pavilion style addition to an existing country style house. The contemporary addition is separated from the original dwelling via a glazed sliver, producing a clean connection whilst allowing for light to penetrate deep within the building mass. The new 'strip' is feathered out at one end with a patterned concrete produced through the CNC milling of the formwork. This feature wall and roof acts as a supporting structure to the roof above the floating glass volume below and frames and outdoor low level seating area. The screen guides you through to the main entry of the house to a covered internal courtyard with allows for cross ventilation from the north easterly winds.
